KFC Kentucky Chicken Rice

02/08/2013 by Chris in Food + Drink, What's New with 2 Comments

American fast food giant, Kentucky Fried Chicken has recently introduced a new sandwich for the Japanese market. Available for a limited time, the sandwich called the Kentucky Chicken Rice, features a variation of the the famous American sandwich released in April of 2010 called the Double Down. Containing a patty made from rice and held together with ketchup, specialty mayonnaise and a slice of orange cheese, the Kentucky Chicken Rice is sandwiched together with two Original Recipe fried chicken fillets as the buns.

Tipping the scale at 585 calories, the Kentucky Chicken Rice is a worthy contender to KFC Japan’s original Double Down which hit 540 calories. Surprising considering the original featured an additional slice of cheese, bacon and an extra helping of mayonnaise. Each KFC Kentucky Chicken Rice is priced at ¥450 ($4.95 USD) or with a medium drink for ¥600 ($6.60 USD). Available for a limited time starting February 7, 2013. Link
