19 Oct Apple Coming to Beijing
California-based, Apple Inc. is set to open its third flagship retail store in Beijing, China by the end of the week. Opening October 20, 2012 (9:00 am), the store will be located in the historic Wangfujing street in Beijing’s Deongcheng District. The store will be Apple’s largest in Asia, covering four-stories of retail space positioned at the corner of the Beijing apm department store.
Publications on the website speculates that the store’s grand opening could coincide with the Chinese launch of Apple’s iPhone 5, however Apple has yet to officially announce a release date for the opening of the largest wireless market in the world.
“In order to met the needs of China’s more than 1.3 billion residents, it will need more than a handful of stores. Apple had originally planned to open 25 stores in China by the end of this year, but the task has proved more difficult than expected. Apple is prepping stores in Chengdu and Shenzhen” and is expected to launch by end of this year. Link
