Following Jamaican sprinter, Usain Bolt’s world record-breaking performance at the London Olympics, Japanese automaker Nissan has teamed up with Bolt to develop a 196-mph GT-R sports car. Featuring a unique gold painted exterior, the one-off “Bolt” GT-R will be auctioned at an eBay charity later this month for Usain Bolt’s Foundation that offers opportunities for children in Jamaica. “Racing is my inspiration, and I want to help Nissan become an even more exciting brand for everyone,” said Bolt.
“Nissan shares the spirit of excitement that captivated worldwide audiences at the Olympics. There is no-one better qualified than Usain Bolt to help us translate that spirit into great experiences,” said Nissan’s Chief Operating Officer, Toshiyuki Shiga.
Bolt has also announced future limited edition versions of the GT-R are in the works and is expected to be sold in international markets. Link
