Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Australian skin care brand Aesop recently opened two new flagship stores in Japan. Built in conjunction, Aesop’s Yokohama (Yokohama Bay Quarter) and Tokyo (Shin-Marunouchi Building) stores were designed by Torafu Architects. Utilizing common construction materials such as OSB (oriented strand board), both retail outlets keep a sense of focus to the characteristics.

The Yokohama store, located in Yokohama Bay Quarter shopping center features stained white OSB and complimenting green tone painted walls, giving a soft, casual look. Tokyo’s Aesop store, located in Shin-Marunouchi Building’s shopping mall features a deep brown stained OSB, which leads to a natural flow of energy throughout the store. The front of each location features a point of sale counter along with convenient tester bars and products displayed along the back and side walls. Link, Link
