Tea House by American architect David Jameson is a music recital room inspired by a lantern hanging in the garden. Inhabiting a Washington D.C. suburban home, the structure acts as a tea house, meditation space, and a stage for the family’s musical recitals. Suspended from a pair of steel arms, the house is constructed out of wood and bronze with an all-glass facade. The exterior features a planted bamboo garden, conceived to cleanse the mind and one prepares to enter. Visitors are led into the Tea House through an ascending origami stairs followed by a four inch thick, opaque wooden entry door. The ceiling is faceted wood, pointing down to the center of the room.
