07 Dec Yayoi Kusama at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art
World-renowned contemporary Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama is currently on exhibition at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art in Las Vegas. Running November 17, 2018 through April 28, 2019, the gallery presents two exhibitions entitled “Infinity Mirrored Room – Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity” and “Narcissus Garden”.
Best known for her obsession with repetitive dot patterns, 88 year-old Kusama’s work spans over six decades and is considered one of Japan’s best-known living artists. In addition to her signature infinity mirrored rooms which in recent years have has become a cultural phenomenon, Kusama is known for her study with pumpkins in mediums ranging from paintings to large scale sculptures.
Narcissus Garden made its world debut in 1966 when Kusama staged an unofficial installation and performance at the 33rd Venice Biennale. Since then the exhibition has been displayed all over the world and has changed in appearance. For the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, the piece will be comprised of 750 mirrored globes, distorting reality it reflects. Learn more >
