03 Jan Converse Celebrates The Year of the Dog with Solar and Lunar Packs
In celebration of the upcoming 2018 Chinese Lunar New Year, Converse has released two limited edition collections – the Solar and Lunar Packs. Inspired by the legendary Tiangou Eclypse myth, where the solar and lunar eclipses were caused by a hungry dog called Tiangou, each collection consists of sneakers and clothing pieces including hoodies, T-shirts, pants, backpack, cap and a baseball jacket.
The Solar Pack consists of either a black or white colorway of the Converse One Star sneaker featuring a nubuck/ leather upper, while the tongue top, heel stay and Star logo highlight a color gradation representing the eclipse.
The Lunar Pack consists of the Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker available in two colorways – gray and teal. Featuring a premium suede upper, the limited edition sneaker highlights a debossed pattern along the front quarter and clear oil print along the back. The foxing tape includes the number and letter codes related to the details of the lunar eclipse as well as the timing of the eclipse.
The Converse “Year of the Dog” Solar and Lunar Packs will be available to purchase through select retail stores starting January 5, 2018 with suggested retail prices ranging from $269 to $799 HKD ($34 USD to $102 USD). Link
